You know how sometimes you have to learn to run before you can walk?  Well, my next picture: Adult Felecia WIP by simpspin
is a total departure in terms of coloring from what I've done before.  With the exception of a few small areas, this picture will be digitally painted like a real painting.

Instead of my previous ways of flood filling sections and adding shadows and highlights, I'm painting over the pencil sections a couple square inches at a time.  I started tonight and after 3 hours, I've managed to get 4 flowers colored.  Ow.  What my goal is, is to have this look more like a traditional painting than digitially inked fan art and I want every square inch to have something special from Felecia DeGeorge (my fave fan made character, btw) to the sky and the city in the valley below.  If I don't have any file crashes (again) this should take about a week, or two to finish.

I want to stop putting out a picture every few days just to say I did, but I'd rather have a picture good enough to be a Daily Deviation, at least. :)

One can dream, eh? :p

Well, good art does take patience. Keep at it. I'm sure it'll turn out great! ^-^

If you're unhappy with what you're doing, you can always find another way to paint it. :D

Well keep it up! ^-^

Although, if you want to make it easier on yourself, maybe it's best to start with a small drawing to digitally paint, and then after you're done, you can come back to this feeling more confident in what you plan to do.

I am confident, but my only vice is my lack of free time. :(
