This is the first decently colored pic of the new child in my Spinoff idea: Eric Simpson.

He's 10 and the youngest child, while Maggie is 13, Lisa is 20 and Bart is 22.

If you haven't figured from my comments on tv.com, I LOVE Eric! The older design kinda made him look a little more like a Bouvier, imho, with the larger hair like Patty, Selma, and Marge, but the smaller hair here makes him look better and probably easier to draw. The coloring is sharp and real, and I could totally see Eric as part of the family on tv. Only one thing - if he has a voice like Marge, how did he get it? It would seem that the Bouviers only get gravelly voices from smoking - such as Patty and Selma having girlish voices in a flashback until they took up smoking - Grandma and Grandpa Bouvier were both smokers, and Marge probably got her voice from secondhand smoke - so where does Eric's come from? I'm just wondering. :-)

Marge has always had a gravelly voice, so I guess he got it from her and I don't recall her being a smoker at all.

Like I said though, secondhand could do the job just as easily. We know that Marge grew up in a smoke-filled house. :)

It might, but remeber Marge still sounded gravelly when she said she wanted to be an astronaught before Pattie and Selma took up smoking.
