This is some awesome shading. You're really good at it.

Thanks. It's too bad this style of drawing isn't more popular, though.

I like doing this as much as coloring, but the darkness gets lost in the colorful fan art out there. :(

I know what you mean. Colored fan art is fun to look at, but I find myself liking fan art with pencil/paper and shading better. Something about it makes it look like more time and effort was put into it. Not saying that colored doesn't take time and effort (it does). However, shading is something difficult to do if you want it to look right.

I totally agree with you and that's what I meant in other posts. The "handmade" side makes it really beautiful.

Definitely. That's one of the reasons why I think pencil/paper and shading is better. Because the fact that you don't need to use a computer, tablet, or other electronic devices. Just your hand.

It's very time consuming those 40 hour pictures are now a fond memory, but i don't miss how bad my hand hurt making them. :p

True. Sometimes, when I draw with pencil and paper, my hand feels like a brick when I'm done.

over the years you've grown as an artist yourself :) your shading is so much better...nice to see you're not avoiding darker shades anymore...
